Girls on the Run
The Wilmington Family Y operates Girls on the Run of Coastal Carolina, an affiliate council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 174 locations in the United States and Canada. Girls on the Run of Coastal Carolina includes a ten county area that includes Columbus, Brunswick, Pender, Onslow, Jones, New Hanover, Craven, Sampson and Carteret.STRIDE
In response to the popularity of Girls on the Run and requests for a running program for boys, the Wilmington Family Y began offering STRIDE in the spring of 2010. STRIDE was developed by the Brandywine Valley YMCA in Pennsylvania.Funding
Girls on the Run and STRIDE of Coastal Carolina is funded by fees, donations, grants and assistance from the Wilmington Family Y. The programs rely entirely on the generosity and support of local individuals, businesses and organizations.This is a map of our service area and the other Y's under our council.
